Putting all of your recommendations to my list. I was looking for some books to read so this has been very helpful, coming from an author I enjoy books from.
Ooh I want to try a DWJ rec. Never read one yet. Now I find it try to crown a fav fantasy book, I'd say I'm very into fairy tale/retelling vibes à la Bear & the nightingale, something rather atmospheric more than necessarily plotty ? Also, not to make it awkward, but I'd genuinely put Pages & co up there too.
Oh do give DWJ a go - her books really cover many different tones and vibes though. Fire & Hemlock is a very weird book - brilliant but very strange! But it is a folk tale retelling and vibes-forward so you might get on with it - let me know what you think if you try it. I often recommend Charmed Life as a great DWJ first read - it's probably still my all time favourite of hers. (And thank you re Pages & Co!)
And I was sorry to read that paid subscription weren't working actually! The legality of it sounds insane! I hope you get to find another way to share writing bits (and for us to support you)
